the best thing yet...

So...last night I experienced the best part of being in Shanghai. I had the best massage ever tonight. The one hour massage for $48 RMB (conversion...approximately $7US for ONE hour!!!) was amazing. Needless to say, it was worth every penny. My sister and I took our aunt, who has never had a massage before because she lives in Shanghai and people here really don't have that kind of money to spend, to the massage parlor near my sister's house. It is packed inside with mostly foreigners who also wanted to take advantage of this amazing (and cheap) deal. I practically passed out on the table while being massaged. It was a very hot day yesterday (again) so it was quite refreshing to get a massage before bedtime. Slept like a baby...
Today, the weather is quite warm again...nothing new. We went out for dim sum in the morning and then I had to come back home to watch Wimbledon. It was just too disgusting outside to wander around and pray that I don't faint. I came home to find out that stupid Wimbledon was rained out so just sat in and read. I have been reading a lot more than what I normally am able to do. It is so nice to be on "vacation" right now.
So my housing is secured. That's something to be proud of. It is in the district of Xuhui and next to a bunch of shops and food. Also, it is within walking distance to all the fun bars! So now, this should entice you people to come and visit me :) I get to move in in about a week from now. So excited to have a HOME! It is a three bedroom two full bath condo on the 23rd floor. It even has a balcony! I am quite excited about that considering that I have never lived with any outdoor space. I overlook nothing, but nothing is better than having a building right smack in your window! It is completely fully furnished and in pretty great condition. Comes with a washer and dryer as well. Can you tell how excited I am? I will have to post some photos once I actually move in. I'll also be sure to pass on my contact info (so puhleeeze call me!)
I'm getting ready to go on my vacation now to Scandanavia. Is that the correct term to use? I hope so...I just read over the itinerary and I'm quite excited to get some relief from this hot weather here in Shanghai. The temp is around mid 70's which is awesome. The only thing I dread is the darn 10 hour flight that I have to take to get there. Augh... more flying.
